This data shows the percentage of adults (ages 18 and older) who thought about commiting suicide in the past year. The respondents were given a questionare. They were asked, "At any time in the past 12 months, did you seriously think about trying to kill yourself?" Those who answered yes are shown in this data set. The data was collected between 2012 -2014.

Major Depressive Episode
in the United States

This data shows the percentage of adults (ages 18 and older), who had a major depressive episode. In this data major depressive episode was classified based on the criterias of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders—Fourth Edition(DSM-IV). The data was collected between 2012 -2014. The confidence interval is also shown, this is a percentage that says something about how confident we can be that the observed value is correct over the population of each state.
